Top 10 Things To Do With Your Kindle
By Greg | December 30, 2008
There’s a ton of different things to do with your Kindle so I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 things – according to me, of course. If you have something to add, please comment.
1. You can use the Kindleas a GPS and find your location using Google Maps.
2. Using the search feature, you can check out things on Wikipedia. You can also search the web in general with a browser called Basic Web. This is just like surfing on a regular computer.
3. Get your paper early. You can usually get your newspapers before they hit the newsstands.
4. Listen to audio books on your Kindle. You can purchase audiobooks at audible.com. You can also use the MP3 player to listen to music although it is somewhat limited. You can listen to music in the background while shopping at the Kindle Store and while reading or surfing the net.
5. You can change font sizes. There are six different font sizes to choose from which comes in handy if you have a hard time reading small fonts.
6. Your Kindle comes preloaded with a dictionary. If you’re not great at spelling just access the New Oxford American Dictionary that comes with the Kindle.
7. Send instant messages right from your Kindle. You can send IM’s using Yahoo Instant Messanger.
8. Learn how to get content for your Kindle from sources other than Amazon. Read this guideif you’re not sure how to get other content.
9. Get a ton of free ebooks and other content for your Kindle. You could easily fill your Kindle without ever paying for anything by using these free resources.
10. You can add your own pictures to the Kindle screen saver. Here is a guide that shows you how to do this: Add your pics to Kindle
