One of the most important things that you’ll need for your Kindle
is a charger. I bought this Gomadic
brand charger for $29.95 from Amazon and it works great. It costs a little more than some other chargers but since there is a lifetime warranty and it’s a quality product, I figured it would be worth the extra few bucks. One of the things that I like most about it is that it charges very fast. This comes in handy for me since I’m always forgetting to charge it and then when I go to use my Kindle there’s hardly and juice left. If I charge it for just a few minutes it’s ready to go and I’m all set. I know I can use the Kindle when I’m charging it but I prefer to use it without having the charger cord attached.
The other thing that I liked about the Gomadiccharger is that it comes with a car charger. Once again, with me always forgetting to charge my Kindle, I can charge it up in the car if I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to wait around the house for it to charge. Plus this comes in handy for when I’m reading while I drive (obviously I’m just kidding, please don’t ever read while driving. I’ve actually seen people do this with books and newspapers and it’s very unsafe).
Another plus is that the charger has some type of advanced circuitry that keeps it safe from power surges, overcharging and short circuiting. I just received my Gomadic charger a couple weeks ago and I love it. I travel in my car a lot it really comes in handy since I can charge it while I’m driving and then use the kindle when I get to where I’m going.

You neglected to mention the coolest thing about the gomadic charger ~ you can buy tips to go with almost every device you own, like ipod, cell phones, etc. One charger for everything; great for travel. I LOVE mine!
